RATOMKA, Belarus, April 23, 2017–Russia’s Elena Zhaivoronskaya rode Sandra to a personal best score to win the Grand Prix Freestyle to kick off the Central European World Cup qualifying leading to the final in Paris in 2018.

Elena and 12-year-old KWPN mare scored 76.400 per cent in the first CDI for the pair outside the Moscow area where they two began their Big Tour career 18 months ago.

Elena, 45 years old, earned 20 points for the win in the first of a schedule of 10 Central European events over the next seven months to choose two combinations for the World Cup Final in Paris a year from now. She and Sandra won the Grand Prix Saturday.

Hanna Karasiova who rode Arlekino for Belarus in the World Cup Final in Omaha a month ago placed second on 74.100 per cent to earn 17 points.

Russia’s Inessa Merkulova on Avans third on 72.800 per cent. Inessa competed her Mister X at Omaha.
