GENEVA, Dec. 10, 2016–Isabell Werth and Emilio set a new high score in winning the CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday and logging the seventh straight victory for the 11th ranked combination in the world.
Isabell and the 10-year-old Westfalen gelding scored 84.025 per cent to easily surpass the previous high of 80.981 per cent set in Munich last May.
This was only the fifth show of the year for Isabell and Emilio as she focused on her world No. 1 partner Weihegold OLD to win team gold and individual silver at the summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Switzerland’s Marcela Krinke Susmelj on Smeyers Molberg was second on 76.750 per cent with Spain’s Beatriz Ferrer-Salat and Sir Radjah third on 75.725 per cent.
France’s Marc Boblet on Noble Dream posted a score of 69.392 per cent to win the Grand Prix Special.
