MILL SPRING, North Carolina, Sept. 10, 2016– Arlene “Tuny” Page on Woodstock won the CD3* Grand Prix Freestyle at the Tryon International Equestrian Center CDI3* with only two combinations starting in the freestyle and the Grand Prix Special.

“Tuny,” of Wellington, Florida and Woodstock, a 13-year-old KWPN gelding, scored 72.950 per cent for the freestyle victory in their first appearance at the show grounds that are making a bid to host the 2018 World Games.

Nora Batchelder of Ocala, Florida on Bahai was second on 66.500 per cent in the pair’s first year at CDI Grand Prix

This was the first event for Tuny and Woodstock since returning from Europe where the pair helped the United States capture the Nations Cup series title. The pair was on the teams at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington that kicked off the inaugural official Nations Cup series and at the final event for the year at the World Equestrian Festival CDIO in Aachen, Germany that clinched the title for the United States.

The Special was won by the U.S.-based Australian Kim Gentry riding Leonardo on 60.020 per cent after Michael Barisone on Wyatt Star was eliminated because of blood on the horse.

This was the first CDI Big Tour for Michael and the 13-year-old KWPN gelding that was competed at Small Tour for two years by Justin Hardin, a long-time trainer at Michael’s Long Valley, New Jersey training center.
