ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, June 24, 2016–Anky van Grunsven, one of the most celebrated dressage stars in the world, on Thursday was formally inducted into the “80% Club” and the first to score 80 per cent at CDI Grand Prix.

Anky on Salinero performed the feat of being awarded 81.333 per cent in 2006 at the same show grounds where she was presented with the award.

Anky was awarded a brow band specially designed for dressage-news.com by Robin Brown of Sarasota, Florida to honor the 80 per cent that has been achieved by only 13 riders in the history of the sport.

The award was presented by Kenneth J. Braddick, editor of dressage-news.com in the main arena of the Rotterdam show in the Kralinge Bos, a popular forest recreation area.

Dressage-news.com photographed the ride for posterity when Braddick covered the event for his HorseSportUSA magazine.

The 80 per cent achievement is so rare that dressage-news.com believed it should be recognized.

Among recipients have been Isabell Werth and Kristina Sprehe of Germany, Edward Gal of the Netherlands, Carl Hester, Chalotte Dujardin and Laura Tomlinson of Great Britain and Steffen Peters of the United States. Those still to receive the award include Adelinde Cornelissen of the Netherlands, Matthias Alexander Rath and Helen Langehanenberg of Germany and Inessa Merkulova of Russia.
