LISBON, Jan. 30, 2016–Portugal’s Gonçalo Carvalho on Batuta won the CDI3* Grand Prix Friday.
Gonçalo and the 10-year-old Lusitano mare scored 72.060 per cent for the in their first competition of the year in which the pair are battling to qualify for the summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Daniel Pinto on Santurion de Massa placed second on 71.940 per cent with Maria Caetano on Coroado in third on 68.840 per cent for a Portuguese sweep of the top three places.
