OMAHA, Nebraska, Nov. 12, 2015–Thomas Baur and Monica Fitzgerald, managers of the Global Dressage Festival in Florida, have been appointed organizers of the Dressage World Cup Final in Omaha, Nebraska in 2017.

The appointments were announced by Lisa Roskens, board chair and CEO of the Omaha-based Burlington Capital Group and a co-founder of the Omaha Equestrian Foundation that organized the successful bid for the dual Finals of dressage and jumping.

Thomas, 45, is based in Mannheim, Germany and is the dressage organizer of several CDIs in Austria and Germany as well as the Global Dressage Festival of seven CDIs at Wellington, Florida for the past three years and of the Central Park Horse Show in New York since its founding two years ago.

This month, he completed six years as the organizer’s representative on the six-member International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Dressage Committee. Thomas worked with Maribel Alonso de Quinzaños of Mexico and other key figures in equestrian sports in the Americas to develop new formats for the Pan American Games. He has also been chef d’equipe of the Colombian dressage team.

Monica Fitzgerald, 51, of Maggie Valley, North Carolina was secretary of several dressage shows including championships across the United States since 2001.

She was appointed manager of the Global Dressage Festival following the death in September of Lloyd Landkamer, who had been the founding show manager of GDF as well as organizing numerous competitions across the United States.

Monica was show secretary for the Global circuit for the past three years. In addition to the Global shows, her experience over a decade and a half includes the Festival of Champions, U.S. Young Horse Championships, U.S. Dressage Finals, Dressage at Devon, Palm Beach Dressage Derby, Wellington Classic Dressage, World Dressage Masters CDI5* and Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Championships.

She was secretary of the U.S. Dressage Finals held last week and will manage the U.S. national championships in Wellington next month and the Global circuit of 12 weeks of international and national competitions over winter.
