SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, California, Mar. 26, 2015–The California Dreaming Productions lineup of shows that have set records on the West Coast of the United States for entries in international competitions this year, is looking to expand the schedule to four shows from three with the addition of a second event at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank in 2016.

David Wilson, who with his wife, Alisa, and longtime show organizer Glenda McElroy said the success of the three competitions over the past two years in Southern California prompted consideration of adding a second week to the mid-February Burbank schedule.

Consideration was prompted by the growth of the CDI entries at the three winter events from what sometimes were just a handful of horses and riders in the Grand Prix levels just four years ago to this week’s international rides of a total of well over 200.

The Wilsons who have interests in successful equestrian endeavors in California, made the investment to create California Dreaming as a collaboration with Glenda McElroy’s Cornerstone company.

The shows at Burbank and San Juan Capistrano have been improved dramatically with state of the art scoreboards, a white tablecloth and waiter service VIP pavilion, a popular tent lounge and streaming video of virtually the entire CDI program with commentary that has made an Internet star of now retired FEI 4* judge Axel Steiner.

“We’re thrilled where it’s heading,” David Wilson told dressage-news.com. “We would like to grow.

“We’re looking at two back-to-back shows at Burbank with the two we have at San Juan Capistrano.”

While a decision to apply for another event has not yet been made, back-to-back weeks at Burbank could put it in conflict with the Adequan Global Dressage Festival CDI5* in Florida scheduled for Feb. 10-14 in 2016.

With $200,000 in prize money, it was the richest CDI5* in the world in 2015.

The Wellington shows this year drew Steffen Peters on both Legolas and Rosamunde, Sabine Schut-Kery on Sanceo, Kathleen Raine on Breanna and both Charlotte Jorst and Kasey Perry each with several horses from the West Coast.
