OTTAWA, Ontario, Oct. 2, 2014–Craig Andreas is leaving as chief operating officer of Equine Canada as a step in “reshaping” the national federation office, the organization announced Thursday.

The departure comes in a restructuring approved by the Equine Canada board of directors four months after the appointment of Eva Havaris, a successful sports executive, as Chief Executive Officer of the governing body of horse sports in Canada.

In a brief statement, the federation said: Equine Canada is in the process of reshaping the national office to better serve our equine and equestrian partners and members. The Chief Operating Officer position has been restructured as part of the ongoing internal improvements aligned with the Board approved strategic direction. Equine Canada would like to thank Craig Andreas for his dedication to the organization and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
