ROTTERDAM, June 22–Patrik Kittel returned to the scene of his biggest victory on Watermill Scandic H.B.C. to take the CDIO5* Grand Prix Special Saturday in their first competition of the year as the pair gear up for the Olympics starting next month.

Patrik, already named to Sweden’s Olympic team, and the 13-year-old KWPN stallion (Solos Carex x Noraline x Amiral) scored 74.289 per cent with Denmark’s Anne van Olst on Exquis Taikoen second on 73.733 per cent and Great Britain’s Michael Eilberg and Half Moon Delphi in third on 71.778 per cent.

The pair got off to a shaky start Thursday with a score of 70.000 per for 16th place individually in the Grand Prix.

However, their previous show was in December last year and followed the European Championships at these same grounds last August where they won the individual bronze medal in the Musical Freestyle.

Their partnership has included the 2009 European Championships and the 2010 and 2011 World Cup Finals.
