STADL-PAURA, Austria, April 25–Victoria Max-Theurer swept all of the Grand Prix competitions in her homeland at the Easter Stadl-Paura CDI3*, including posting a personal best on Eichendorff in the Grand Prix qualifier for the Freestyle.
Victoria competed Eichendorff in the Freestyle Monday, which she won with a score of 75.975 per cent after qualifying in the Grand Prix with a score of 70.660 per cent. The previous best for Victoria and the 13-year-old Westphalen stallion in a Grand Prix was 70.043 per cent at Weikersdorf, Austria in October, 2009.
German Olympic team gold medalist Heike Kemmer on Feliciano was second in both the Freestyle and the qualifying Grand Prix with scores of 73.825 per cent and 69.936 per cent, respectively. Canada’s Pia Fortmüller on Orion was also third in both competitions, scoring 72.850 per cent in the Freestyle and 69.766 per cent in the Grand Prix.
Australia’s Hayley Beresford, based in Germany and competing internationally for the first time since the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky last September, rode Relampago do Retiro for a score of 65.340 per cent and eighth place in the Grand Prix and 13th place in the Freestyle with a score of 66.025 per cent.
Earlier in the weekend, Victoria rode Augustin OLD to win both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special.
