SYDNEY, Feb. 16–Grant Baldock, an experienced sport and surf executive, will become the Chief Executive Oficer of Equestrian Australia in mid-April.

He takes over from Franz Venhaus, who has been CEO since 2002. He was the unanimous choice of a search committee.

In his 15 years of sports administration, his career started at the Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club in Queensland then moved to Surf Life Saving Australia in Sydney. His experience includes sports management assignments at the Commonwealth Games and World Swimming Championships. He is currently general manager Surf Sport with SLSA.

“We look forward to working closely with Grant. He will bring valuable experience and a different perspective to our administration. Grant is committed to enacting the vision of EA and we are very fortunate to have him joining the team,” said Paul Cargill, Equestrian Australia Chairman.

‘We are equally sorry to see Franz vacate the position and thank him for his great contribution over the past eight years.”
