ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands, Nov. 4–International dressage riders have voted CHIO Rotterdam the L’Année Hippique best outdoor dressage show.
The Rotterdam competition received 296 points in judging shows on several issues: prize money, competition and warmROTTERDAM, The Netherlands, Nov. 4–International dressage riders have voted CHIO Rotterdam the L’Année Hippique best outdoor dressage showup arena footing, stabling, overall organization and ambiance.
Rotterdam beat out Aachen, Germany which was in second place with 148 points, Hickstead, England third with 132 points, Hagen, Germany fourth with 128 points and Munich, Germany, fifth on 120 points.
“It’s a fantastic reward for our work over the past years and a great booster to continue our strategy,” said Tineke Bartels, Director Sports Dressage at CHIO Rotterdam. “In particular with the European Dressage Championships upcoming in 2011 it’s good to hear that the Top Dressage Riders enjoy being in Rotterdam.”
The International Dressage Riders Club were requested to elect the top five indoor and outdoor events of the 2008-2009 season. All winners were notified this week and will receive their awards at Jumping Indoor Maastricht in The Nerthlands Nov. 25=29.
CHIO Rotterdam presenting high performance dressage and jumping with the 2010 event scheduled for June 16-20.
