VILHELMBORG, Denmark, Sept. 3–The Danish Warmblood PAVO Elite Show and Elite Foal Auction begins Friday, Sept. 4 and runs through Sunday, Sept. 6.

The event features the grading of the best mares and foals of 2009, the Elite Foal Auction and the Danish National Young Horse Championships in Showjumping.

The grading commission of Dansk Varmblod has picked out the best two and three-year-old mares in the country as well as the best foals for the national finale at Vilhelmsborg.

As potential future mothers of top sires and sport horses, the young mares attract attention at the Elite Show. The Danish mare UNO Donna Unique who recently earned a silver medal at the WBFSH World Championships in Verden, Germany last month was Champion Mare and awarded the gold medal at the Dansk Varmblod Elite Show at Vilhelmsborg in 2007.

Dansk Varmblod’s Elite Foal Auction is scheduled for 7 pm Saturday night ( 1 pm US ET) in the main show arena at Vilhelmsborg.

Videos of the auction foals can be viewed on the official Dansk Varmblod website. The collection consists of 60 warmblood foals and six pony foals, all with top international bloodlines, type and movement.

The auction will be streamed live and bids can be made by telephone as long as arrangements are made in advance with the Dansk Varmblod office.
